SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?

Does anyone who now owns the XM3 have any feedback on sound quality vs the sennheiser momentum wireless 2.0? This has been my go-to in the form factor for a while, and I can probably learn to live without the "connect to 2 devices simultaneously" if sound quality is equivalent but noise...

Pictures of your computer rigs! Post them here!

Sorry, went AWOL on the thread for a bit. The Phillips Hue kit i'm using is the one for BR30 bulbs (indoor floods), and then I bought a 4th bulb as these were replacing 4 75w bulbs in the ceiling. The original impetus was heat reduction --- I've got a lot of electronics stacked in the room...

Bose QC25 review (long flight experience included)

I have to say, I've been really impressed with the QC25 too. My last Bose experience was on the QC2, and these are miles better in terms of the noise cancellation tech and sound quality. Comfort has always been excellent on the Bose headsets, and the new folding pattern / smaller case is great...

In honor of Halloween, a couple of Phillips Hue lit shots. There are some audio pieces hidden around somewhere.

Galaxy S4 and audio crackling issue with UE600

Just as an FYI --- if any of you are having problems and still laboring without a patch (T-Mobile ---- I'm looking at you). I rooted mine this weekend, and installed a custom Android 4.3 ROM (based on beanstalk). Not only did it totally fix this issue, but added some very nice DSP / Audio...

ALO Audio RXMKIII Balanced Portable Amplifier Impressions

There is a definite hiss (even in balanced) with my JH16s. The background is nowhere near as black as my pico slim and the hiss is very audible when nothing is playing, but as soon as the music starts you will stop caring :) Everything about the actual sound is excellent, and it also handles my...

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)

Quote: I agree with this, or at least the fact that awesome new compact cameras have come out since the s100. I picked it up in early 2012 before a trip to Costa Rica, and then used it again in Africa. The size made it really handy, but it's been surpassed by other sensors. It's also never...

I got my S100 back from Canon after a stuck lens issue. Time for a quick photo and then some nighttime listening:

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)

Very interesting. I'm not really in the market --- went from the SE535 to the JH16 pro. But had these been out, I would have given them a hard look. I'm interested to see how they compare to customs in that price range.

Galaxy S4 and audio crackling issue with UE600

I've also got the galaxy s1, s2, and s3 around the house. I'll do some additional checking, and see if they exhibit the same problem and to what degree. The JH16s were new in Feb, so I didn't use them a ton with those previous phones. My methodology is pretty simple:   --plug in JH16s...

Galaxy S4 and audio crackling issue with UE600

As suspected, using the pico slim gets rid of this problem, and also generally drives the jh16 with a ton more authority.Double amping isn't ideal, but the pico slim is such a a clean IEM amp that I'm not detecting any negatives --- only positives from adding it into the loop.

Galaxy S4 and audio crackling issue with UE600

I just bumped into this on the S4 (US qualcomm version) with my JH16s, if I really try to crank the volume on a song with a ton of bass energy. Basically, it seems like the internal amp can't keep up with the current requirements of really low impedance headphones at loud volumes.   I'm...

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)

Quote: Thanks! Thought I would bust out a little company pride for the logo art.   The pico slim really is an awesome IEM amp. I love listening to the CLAS -DB / ALO Rx MKIII balanced combo, but there is something to be said for tiny, perfect channel balance, and the lowest noise floor...
