First PCB project, Bantam or Alien?

I built an Alien DAC during the PCB group buy. It is a huge improvment over the sound coming out of most motherboards. Worth doing once you know how to solder. This absolutly is NOT a beginner DIY. The PCM2702 DAC chip is in a SSOP28 package. Lead spacing is .025" Not a PCM2702, but...

    DIY DAC/amp, drive bay

What sound card are you using? Some of them are terrible. There are some very small DACs out there.

You might be able to get Olimex to make it as 2 or 4 boards on a 320x200 panel. Not ideal but you'd get around the Eagle limit.

The board certainly has room for improvement. Olimex made the boards. Yes Olimex. They've improved. Still have the 1 euro charge for each drill not in the standard rack. I've got part libraries that use the .9 1.0 1.1 1.3mm before plating drill sizes so I don't have to pay the drill change...

I use Eagle. Added plus is that is is cross platform. I paid for a non-profit license version as some of my projects have grown to 160x100. Eagle has a bit of a learning curve but it isn't too bad. There is lots of help available on-line. Starting with current version, the licences...

    Sound only on one channel

Forgot to add -- Are you using RadioShack solder? Multicore or Kester in one of the smaller diameters makes it easier to get the right amount of solder on a connection. You don't have buy the expensive botique solder.

Looks like there might be solder bridges between the power buss and a couple of the op-amp pins. Best to follow Pars suggestion for testing. Quote: Do you think any of these parts are salvageable? Are you thinking about taking the parts off this board and starting over? I'd...
