Hehehe. I've been using a DAC with an AK4396 in it for exactly 10 years now and it's still my favorite USB DAC i own. And I loved my X3, although I recently traded it away, as I have too many DAPs not being shown enough love since I got a LG v10...

Are you sure the AK4490 sounds as good as the AK4396? And as usual, implementation is key. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the x10 impressions. And because I'm in no hurry, I'll read all the usual bitchin about it and "where's rockbox" and once that's released for it, then I might bite!
 
And you're liking the LG v10? I have an S5 paired up with the ZuperDAC and am loving it as my main player. But I still like having the X3 (and re-found Xuelin 770) as happily used backups.

Fuelled by the recent hype about the oncoming landmark of high tech which is/will be the XDUOO X10 I went into some trance of day-dreaming... My better half brought me back to Mother Earth by asking me to help with some low-tech anodine house chores... damn, no escape ! Before getting enrolled into the house-keeping duties I managed to get to the XDUOO site for news/pictures/technical blurb on the X10...

been lurking on these forums for a minute whilst researching portable players and decided on getting a XDuoo X3 to start my journey...
 
i recall reading somewhere that there was 2 versions of the player tho -- apparently an updated version ironed out some initial kinks.  anyhow, i've seen these for sale at all the usual suspects (ebay, dhgate, aliex etc) but want a version2 so was curious if anyone here knows (a) where i could definitely get a V2 and/or (b) whats the easiest way to confirm the model i receive is indeed a V2

I think it's unlikely to buy the old version now, unless you want to buy a second-hand one. The old version is long gone.
