This headphone needs no introduction as if you are considering this listing you know exactly what you have here. The HE-6 is my favorite headphone ever made, and I have owned every version including a pre-production model (except the proto). This EP version is my favorite of them all. I am reluctantly selling this highly sought after Early Production 4-screw HE6. This is a unique model as it has been upgraded with an Audeze Carbon Fiber ($240) headband / yoke kit which you can no longer purchase from Audeze unless you provide receipt for an Audeze product. There are probably not many functioning EP 4S ones left in the wild. There are a few nicks on the cup edge where you mount the grill which is expected with a headphone with this age, I have included it in the close up pictures. Don't hesitate to ask for more pictures or any questions.

This sale comes with;

0. Audeze Carbon Fiber Headband Upgrade ($240 upgrade)
1. Custom Oidio XLR 5' XLR Cable
2. 2 Extra Grills
3. Original Box, XLR to SE adapter, extra SMC screws
4. Stock Hifiman Velour and Pleather Pads
5. 5 Sets of Extra Pads all with mounting brackets already in place to give you flavor options.
  1. ZMF Lambskin Ori Pads
  2. Dekoni Fenestrated Sheepskin Pads
  3. Brainwavz Velour Pads
  4. Wang Velour Pads
  5. Hifiman Velpads
6. Headband mounting screws and washers

Price is $2100 Shipped & Fully Insured (CONUS). WILL CONSIDER INTERNATIONAL SALES but shipping will need to be split depending on amount. Priority will go towards people with classifieds feedback.

Original HE-5 Listing below. Would consider combo deal if interested in early HFM collection, please DM me.

Are you ok mate? do you have a backup pair?

Wouldn’t trade my HE6 for any of today’s flagship models…

Not even Susvara ?
Prefer the HE6 bass, it got more punch. While Susvara does have some small improvements, nothing makes me enjoy music more than the HE6. For resolution and details I use my Sonoma electrostatic headphones.

Well am not so sure. I need to A/B to validate that testament. But good to know owning the He 6 are worth it.

I'm really interested in purchasing this headphone, but early Hifiman are infamous for driver failure. I mean, there's a reason so few of these survived and still working today. Do you know if Hifiman will service this HE6 when it finally gives up its ghost, or is this risk of driver failure just a part of owning an early production Hifiman?

Disagree
I’ve had quite a few he6 and they are insanely reliable

If they were to fail they should have failed by now…
