For sale is a pair of Stax Sigma Pro. Please carefully read below for condition.

I recently purchased them from this ad:

Upon arrival, I noticed some black specks on the mineral wool, and upon inspecting, noticed that the specks were from the deterioration of the adhesive attaching the drivers to the frame. Thus, I cleaned out all the old adhesive, and re-attached the drivers to frame with new adhesive. During this operation, I noticed a small hole in the dust cover of the left driver. Per Spritzer's rec from this thread, I applied clear tape to seal dust over (see pic). I didn't notice any change to sound, so dust cover is functionally OK but aesthetically not.

It looks like this guy from youtube had same issue with his Stax and sourcing new material for dust cover is $10 from this site: https://micronwings.com/product/mylar-2-micron-clear/.

Despite the above issue, I haven't noticed any issue with sound: no squealing, no channel imbalance, no distortion. To my ears and with my gear, the Sigma's have a warm, atmospheric sound, with huge sound images.

At my asking price of $800 shipped, I am taking significant loss from what I paid just a few weeks ago, but this is risk I took buying 20+ year old headphone. Lesson learned on my end, but hopefully this can be good deal for anyone interested in owning/hearing the Sigma's.

p.s. the black things on the headphone is Sorbothane. Could be placebo, but they seemed to reduce the bass resonance. They were only attached to exterior of headphone and can be easily taken off in just a few minutes. I will take them off before shipping if preferred.

Also, original box was not included but they arrived to me in another Stax box.
