Selling my ZMF Caldera Redheart, in excellent condition, purchased one year ago from a dealer in Germany.
The Caldera of course needs no introduction.
The Caldera has competed for musical enjoyment with Abyss 1266 and Susvara over the last year, all equally capable in their own way that it truly is a matter of taste and indeed very much the mood of the moment. There are times when only the Caldera can offer the interpretation to suit the moment, but that is equally true of the other two as well. It is fascinating how different they are.
I don’t have the vocabulary to describe the differences, that is the realm of experts far more experienced and capable than I, but the essence for me at least has been that the Caldera is the more intimate of the 3, with the ability to cater for all genres and with a thickness and texture to the notes that the others have needed mega amplifiers to reach.
In the end the Susvara is the one that suits my particular tastes, which tend towards Jazz, blues, and rock and this only after I found, after a lot searching and experimenting, the right amplifier to tease out all its abilities.
The Caldera is unique amongst the 3 as well in that she can be driven very happily with a DAP or portable DAC/AMP, not so with the Susvara and Abyss, not a chance in hell! So, on the move, should it take your fancy, I have not experienced better.
I have loved having it, and have cared for it meticulously, always stored in the case when not in use.
My Caldera has a tiny superficial hairline mark on one of the side plates which can be seen in the photos. It was delivered like this new from ZMF. But otherwise it is in excellent condition.
Comes with a standard ZMF 6.3mm cable and upgraded 6.3mm cable, and two pads as described on the owner’s card.
Any questions please feel free to ask.
Thanks
