Hi, they are not scratched up. There's a textured finish around the back driver opening that likes to catch the light, so it looks like that in photos. The part around the gold have a very almost fine grit sand-paper kind of texturing, so it it always comes out looking a little scratched.

I included another photo in the listing with a closeup. Thank you for bringing it up.
