XTC's are amazing with an extremely emotionally engaging sound. They in my honest opinion compete with headphones that cost 4x + as much as what the OP is asking for here. I can't think of a better value @ $550 than this. I've had so many headphones come through my home... HD800S, Ether 2, HE1000SE, Susvara, LCD-4 ... you get the idea. My dad has heard them all. The XTC (same tuning as this one) was the only one my dad ever asked me to "buy a pair for him personally for his own use because he loved it so much". Yeah.. that's how good they are. I'm not even joking. GLWS!
