I am selling a new custom Grado SR/Prestige style headphone. This build utilizes the following parts (all parts are new):

* Custom Narra wood cups, turned for me by Head-Fi member 'Fleasbaby'
* Symphones Magnum V9 drivers
* New set of Grado L cushions
* Sennheiser HD800 cable sockets
* New 10-foot Sennheiser HD800 cable
* Shipibo Audio (now: nyczaj.audio) slim, lightweight machined aluminum gimbals and rodblocks, finished in flat black ceramic coating
* Turbulent Labs standard width black, padded leather headband
* Grado spring steel headband support

The headgear is very lightweight, about the same weight as the stock headgear from a Grado RS2. Assembly uses steel set screws to mount the rodblocks to the steel headband support, nylon tipped set screws to set tension for extension and rotation of the gimbal rods within the rodblocks, and adjustable pivot set screws to hold the cups within the gimbals. The extension/rotations set screws allow for anything from easy adjustment on-the-fly to a fixed set-and-forget fit.

This is essentially a new headphone. The headphone, minus drivers, has been assembled and ready to complete for a year or so, awaiting drivers. I stopped building for a while due to medical issues. I installed the Symphones V9 drivers today and listened with them for a couple of hours using a cable from one of my personal builds. As I have already settled on a pair of custom built Grado headphones for my own use I am selling off the remainder of my custom parts. Save for the external design of the cups (aesthetics only) this is essentially a duplicate of my personal headphone with V9 drivers.

To assemble this headphone today using new parts would cost $500+, plus any associated shipping cost.

I am asking $325, price includes PayPal fees and shipping CONUS (currently for sale only within the United States). I am willing to entertain reasonable offers.

If interested please leave a reply in this thread and follow-up with a private message.

Thanks for looking! Have a great day,

Hi Xerath, and thanks for the question! :smile_phones:

The short answer is that they have proven to be quite robust (thirteen custom Grado builds to date since mid 2018, not including this one as it has only seen an hours use so far, and no cable related failures reported to date). They also allow for full disassembly and ease of service, should it ever become necesssary. I have two personal builds that I listen with several times weekly. I have owned them for five years now. I connect the cable when I use them and disconnect them after each use. Neither has so much as hiccuped. The hardware isn't cheap but so far my experience has been of the 'buy once, cry once' variety.

I'll send a PM with a more thorough answer.
