A classic that does not need to be introduced to anyone. The headphones are in excellent technical condition. Their visual condition I assess as good+. On one side of the headband you can see a minimal chipping. I tried to capture it in one of the photos. I do not know how it was formed, I noticed it while taking pictures. Pads are not new. It will be good to replace them either. They have not been exposed to dust or sunlight. I am a non-smoker either. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. Shipping in original box from Europe.

You mean at the centre where is gold in colour surrounding the grey area ?
That's right, as far as I'm aware it was originally used by Sennheiser to hold the magnet assembly together, but later on, with the birth of the 650, they managed to avoid using them and reduce costs.
Thanks for clarifying it! :)
You're welcome!

Reading this flood was exciting :)) So who is buying it now :)
Honestly would have bought them myself but I'm currently saving money for a higher end amp for my HD600/650, to anyone who may be interested, black screen 600/650 are amazing, especially for the price.

I owned silver screens of both in the past and (to me and my ears atleast) the black screens partially feel like the kind of upgrade silver screen users would actually want from Sennheiser. More transparent and refined, no graininess in the treble, more separation of instruments and microdetails and less congestion in the bass. And that's quite something, given how good the silver screens already are.
Really feel like actual flagships of the past.

I owned the HD800 for about a year in 2014, and in my opinion these kinda resemble/approach them in some technicalities, like transparency, darker blackground etc. but without the bothersome treble presentation.
HD800 still had amazing soundstage though and the bass, although not very present, felt really clean and deep.

Now if you truly are totally and completely in love with your silver screen's sound, I suggest you keep using them, they feel more colored to me, but it might be a type of coloration you really dig. To anyone else, try a black screen (black silk, there are rare black paper-like ones but I have not tried them) .
The level of refinement with good gear is astounding. They truly are a piece of history.

It truly is a pity in my opinion that they changed materials to the silver mesh, but I think that the fact that it happened around 2007 while 800's and 700's (wich used the same type of material for the driver baffle/housing) were in development is no coincidence and it was probably more convenient to use baffle materials from the same vendor, especially given that it does make them more resistant to accidental damage of some kind.
