This is the newest version of the HE1000 v2, the v2 Stealth. I purchased it brand new from Headphones.com just a couple months ago, so lots of warranty still left. Perfect condition, with original box and accessories.

Going to the HE1000SE, and decided I don't need to keep both. Indistinguishable from new and probably not even burned in yet.

Price does not include shipping. I have two decades of perfect feedback here, ebay, audiogon, etc., so buy with confidence.

Have you tried the Arya stealth? If so, how would you compare these to those? I’ve been debating on these or the 1000se since I liked the look of them and love the sound of the Arya stealth

I've owned them all at this point, multiple times for some. Each has different advantages and disadvantages, and my favorites change depending on what I'm listening to. For orchestral/classical, which is most of my listening, I would say my top 5 is:

1. HE1000SE
2. Susvara (this would probably be higher with the right amp, but I've tried the Raal HSA-1B, the Burson Soloist GT, the Bryston BHA-1, the Benchmark HPA4, the Topping A90, and probably some I'm forgetting, and it never surpassed the SE for me)
3. HE1000v2
4. Arya Stealth (excellent, and not far behind the HE1000, but other than cost, I see no reason to choose it over the HE1000)
5. HE1000v1

The v2 Stealth sounds a little more forward and aggressive than the regular v2, which sounds a little more diffuse. For chamber music and vocals, I like the v2 stealth better. But I still think the SE and the Susvara are the better headphones.

All of these are amazing headphones. After 20 years here, and having experienced pretty much all the top-tier headphones (including the HE90), I've become a bit of a Hifiman fanboy.

I’m glad I asked! Thank you for that detailed response, I appreciate it.

I’ve kind of been looking for a headphone that has the Arya sound but a little more bass (I add a bass shelf on my aryas and I’ve been enjoying that sound for almost anything I’ve been listening to) and have seen people say the he1000v2 (non stealth) is kind of like that but sounds a bit different in a way that details are presented differently? I’m not really sure what they mean by that though, so your insight helps.

How is the Stealth with hip hop and EDM?

No idea as I don't listen to those genres. I would probably go with something a little bassier like ZMF or Focal for those genres, but that's just a guess.

Sorry I don't mean to help hijack this thread, but what's your experience with the HE1000V1 like? I guess more specifically, how does it compare to Arya Stealth, since that's my point of reference. It's hard to find good comparisons online, and I've always wondered if they were worth a good deal whenever they pop up for sale.

To my ear, the v1 sounds warmer and perhaps a bit more "musical", while the Arya is more airy, detailed, and brighter. I don't think the v.1 is an upgrade to the Arya because it's a very different headphone. I think the v.2, the v.2 Stealth, and the SE are more closely aligned if you want an improved Arya sound.
