For sale Denafrips Terminator upgraded with two Neutron Star 3 super clocks by NewClassD (650 euro each in the price list) (see photo) powered externally by linear WM with totally discrete regulation stages with Top components. (the value of the linear exceeds 500 euros). The power supply is connected to the Termy via a 4pin XLR cable (the 4pin XLR socket was obtained by replacing the connector of one of the two 3-pin XLRs dedicated to the AES-EBU inputs, therefore an AES input is available. Modification performed by a professional specialized technician of the state-of-the-art WM company (Streamy MKII). The modified Termy is in another category, stratospheric. The modification is totally and easily reversible, in fact in the package there will also be replaced components (two Crystek 957 clocks, an XLR connector 3 pins and a digital transformer attached to the AES.Shipped in Europe.

I don’t mean to be rude or condescending, but... is there really a good reason to upgrade to an external power supply? I read a bunch of articles on this DAC, and a lot of reviews, and the built-in power section seems to be really solid. Does it really make such a dramatic difference?

The external power supply concerns only the 2 Neutron Star 3 superclocks of the New Class Audio instead of the cheap Cristek that equips the original Terminator.

Well, that would be one hell of a bargain :). Sadly, head-fi doesn’t exactly display the post changes, though.
