Hey there, I'm looking out for an HE-6 in good condition, only the 4-screw version is what I’m interested in. If you have one you're looking to sell, let me know and we can work something out. Thanks in advance!

I’ve always wondered why the old HE6 is worth more than the newer one. From what I read, the new HE6 sounds better, is more comfortable, and has a higher MSRP. Am I missing something? Or is it just pure nostalgia that drives the old HE6 price up?

I only tried the 6-screw version of the OG HE-6 and to my ears, I haven't had an experience like that with a headphone prior to this. The intense, visceral bass, well balanced mids and slightly harsh but manageable treble. Having not heard the newer SE models, from what people like Resolve have said about the comparison, the newer SE models just don't have the slam that the OG models had, nor are they that balanced in the FR compared to the OG. And from the graphs of each, you can see that he has a point. So I'd assume that's the reason why OG HE-6's have a high demand even after all these years

Because from all the reviews I’ve seen, the new HE6 sounds better overall. This is weird.
I bet it’s nostalgia.
Man, watch Resolve's review of the OG HE-6 compared to the newer SE models. He says in the video he has no prior connection to the OG HE-6 and still ended up preferring it a lot over the newer SE models. So yeah, the newer SE models are fine for what they are, but they don't hold a candle to the older HE-6

So all the other reviewers who said otherwise were high on drugs?
I don't know. But my preferences match very close to Resolve's and his review is the one I trust the most, so there you go. You can believe what you want and so can I
