Man, As a 15 year old with Srh840, and EF5's on the way. I am quite jealous, but i can try and come close by next year :), I need a job.

Your getting an EF5? Very awesome. Also, even if you do get a job, enjoy being a teenager, I've been to sucked into the audio scene that it's horrible.

You notice when you're an audiophile when you use at least half of the words from the audio dictionary (from memory) to describe sonic characteristics.

Yup, that's me all right.

The nice thing about being 16 is if you have a job, you probably don't have any bills, so all your money is discretionary spending. If you work 20 hours a week at $9 per hour that's $180 per week (before taxes) that you can save up for gear. Can get a nice setup pretty quickly if you really want to.

i can afford a Q701 and some of that stuff but i seriously doubt my asian parents will let me :p im trying really hard to convince them i NEED a hd25 :p they keep on telling me that i already have a headphone (only a dt990 pro) so yea its not just money............

In this case I agree with your asian parents. IMO going from a dt990 to an hd25 is a side-grade. dt990 is a perfectly good headphone. Only advantage I can see with the hd25 is it's probably more suited to portable use, if that's your intention... still, not really a necessity.

I don't think getting sucked into the audio scene is so bad.

After I started this hobby I have pretty much stopped gaming altogether, and I have been spending a lot of time doing useful stuff as a result. For example, I have developed my taste in music further, I have read quite a few scientific books and I have gained first hand experience with electronics. Sounds far better than gaming, if you ask me.

And I'm 17, for the record.

I would agree, I would be much less interested in digital signal processing and electronics, D/A and A/D conversion and compression if I didn't like audio so much.
