"Aventine" - Agnes Obel (I am impressed with this album!)

Give a listen to Ane Brun - "It All Starts With One" ... I discovered Agnes Obel & Ane Brun at the same time myself . Love both !

One of my absolute favorite compositions.
I have that Harmonia Mundi one and a few others (one the 1893 version), but not that from EMI. Is it a worthwhile inclusion?

I prefer the Harmonia Mundi one but I found the  Barenboim version at a cheap price on Amazon.fr.  it worthes a listen IMO.  I think the most esteemed version is this one :

It's on my wish list :)

Three new jazz purchases. I REALLY like Red Clay (Freddie Hubbard)-some soul and infusion mixed with hard bop. Wayne Shorter is good too, although it sounds quite a bit like Coltrane as it had the same players in one of the classic Coltrane line ups. These are basically side men seen on many a classic line up fronting their own groups....good stuff.

And some new metal. Darkest Era is really strong although the production values are so so. Irish folk/mythology with Iron Maiden/Thin Lizzy with a little Black Metal riffing giving the whole thing a clean epic metal sound. I'm a fan of the various genres represented. I like the vocalist and the melodic yet heavy qualities here.

Listening to new Opeth-first two tracks-I like it so far-maybe a bit more immediate than Heritage-sounds more focused.  I do miss Ghost Reveries era Opeth-but this feels quite solid in a 70's prog rock way.
