What are the most overpriced headphones in your opinion?
i'd say RS1's(not the "i" verison)
the GS1000 sounded 10 times better to me than the RS1 from a brief audition i had at a store.

Although I adore my D5000s, for their original retail price of 699 US dollar (in Europe even worse: 699 euro = 1000 US Dollar) I think they are extremely overpriced.
$499 is a fair price.

Speedlink Medusa 5.1: £60 for something that sounds like 3 sets of £2 earbuds strapped to your head while someone grabs your ears and shakes them every so often.

Wow, to me, it's the GS-1000's rather than the RS-1's. I think they sound terrible compared to all of Grado's other headphones and aren't nearly worth their price tag.

I think the AT ATH-L3000 is the most overpriced headphone I've ever met. I remember hearing these at the northern NJ head-fi meet. I had just set up my rig and someone handed them to me and said, "I have the L3000's, want to try them?" I'm like, "I'm not familiar with those," and someone else said, "Do you have any idea how much those cost?" and I was like "nope". Having the understanding that the person had paid a lot for them, I put them on my head and was just immediately underwhelmed. How can a headphone that costs so much sound so blurry and confused? The sound was well-balanced, but jeez, the instrumental separation was just terrible.

All Bose headphones are around double the price of what they should actually cost. Their Quiet-Comfort goes for $300-400, depending on the model. After giving them a preview, I'd put their value at between $130-150.

Most out of production, highly sought-after headphones.
for example the MDR-R10. Whats the going price now, $6000?
It should be 1/3 of that, despite having the "dynamic headphone king" label

Many so called "high-end" headphones are manufactured under ridiculous conditions in China - wages are about 100$/month (16h/day, 6 days a week) and headphones which are manufactured within a few hours (including components and sub-assembly) are sold for up to a yearly wage! THAT's overpriced!
