I’ve been digging on my Dynaudio Focus 600 XD’s for about 5 years now. They constantly impress me. I’m a big fan of actives.
Active speakers have a HUGE advantage of being precisely designed, with all components well matched throughout the entire chain. Of course Dynaudio only puts out top tier products. I‘ve wanted active Dyns for a while, but alas, no place for them in my life right now.I’ve been digging on my Dynaudio Focus 600 XD’s for about 5 years now. They constantly impress me. Why do you have furniture when you can get a pair of Cornwalls?I've been the proud owner of a pair of Klipsch Cornwall IVs for over a week now! Even running them from my Onkyo A/V receiver they are absolutely incredible. I'm feeding the A/V receiver an analog signal from a Schiit Modius DAC.
When I eventually do upgrade my amp, it won't be because the Cornwalls don't sound incredible out of this Best Buy A/V receiver. It'll be just because of the principle lol.
I have the Opticon 1s and needed to EQ as well. The treble is really holographic and dimensional (impressively so), however they're a bit bass light and need a sub as the woofer doesn't have much oomph. They're very pretty though I switch these out from time to time with a DIY pair of speakers with Planet10 modded Fostex full-range drivers.DALI Oberon 3, they have a nice character in the highs that is also even, and the casing is bright wood and the front cover fabric is a bit like a grey jeans, behind that you see a bit of white plastic just like the K701 has, triggers a lot of joy for me. But not sure if sound without bi-amped is the best, and I had to tilt-eq out the brightness like crazy with a graphical EQ, tried settings for months, finally happy. No noise floor in near-field, amp is S.M.S.L. SA-36A.
Those look incredible, and expensive! I think that rear facing tweeter is an interesting concept!I have had these Lawrence Audio Violin SE for a couple months. They are really good. Great soundstage. Enough bass for my taste….full body sound with good highs and detail. They have a front firing AMT tweeter and a rear firing ribbon tweeter. The driver is a 8 inch.
I remember Best Buy carried EOSONE speakers about two decades ago. They were made by Polk and were the first I had seen with rear firing metal dome tweeters. I was just getting into audio back then and really liked them. They were also very inexpensive. Those look incredible, and expensive! I think that rear facing tweeter is an interesting concept!
