I would say very strong bass with great pronounced mids with "laid back" but sparkly detailed highs ! I don't think I've ever seen a earphone match reviews so accurately haha, I was so scared at first that they were fake that my mind was playing tricks on my ears!

I know this is a stupid question but, I have a pair of fake IE8s and I want to upgrade to a Westone UM1, will I experience a dramatic change in SQ?

Also depends on how bad your fakes are. the UM1's are ok. Get UM3 or UM2 if you can stretch your budget a bit.

or if your on a budget you can score a pair of xba-3s for about 100usd
not saying there better than westones but they are amazing at that price point

There aren't many headphones that are available here in our country, but I'll try different brands other than Westone since the store where I will buy is open for auditioning. Thanks!

To describe my fakes, the bass is muddy, the highs are terrible (harsh), as well as the mids. I just played with the EQ to make them sound decent. I'm still a student and I don't have a lot of money to spare so I might as well go for UM1. Thanks, anyway!

Mine are missing paragraph 6 on the dutch section of the packaging. Does this mean they are definitely fakes? Anyone else just have 5 paragraphs?
