Tin HiFi Impressions Thread

While anxiously awaiting the arrival of my T2 Plus order, I’m thoroughly enjoying listening to the Tin T4s. I really like how they sound with a TRN T3 silver cable and ePro horn-shaped tips. They sound very lively, punchy, and detailed. Right now, I think my FDX1 and T4 are my most detailed IEMs.

Wow they beat your L3 and Shure SE846 in details?

Let us know how the Tin T2 Plus turns out, that one looks like a great set.

They do beat the L3 when it comes to fine details and overall resolution. The L3 is slightly smoothed over relative to the FDX1 and T4. It’s not drastic though. It makes the L3 a little more relaxing, and for some, more enjoyable.

Good point. I didn’t even think about the se846 in comparison. The overall micro detail retrieval is about the same between the se846, FDX1, and T4, however, due to the much more prominent upper mid boost in the T4 and FDX1 compared to the se846, as well as the more extended treble on those DD IEMs, you can hear more fine details on those 2 IEMs vs the Shure. I do prefer the midrange as a whole quite a bit more on the se846, b/c it lacks such a strong pinna gain, and thus lower mids and upper mids sound more balanced to me.

Has anyone received their T2 Plus sets yet? I think it’s probably going to be at least a few more weeks until I get mine, with free standard shipping.

I've received mine a while back now (purchased during June sales & with free standard shipping too), they are a good set, nothing to complain about.

Nozzle is T400 size (approx. 5.0mm bore and 5.5mm lip).

Easy comfortable fit. I swapped some TS400 size foams on. I also pushed them down over the secondary lip as I have shallower ears, so don't need as much reach as others may. :)

Initial impression: neutral/bright'ish with a mild amount of bass that is somewhat mid-bass focused, due to roll off. Not quite so bright or harsh that it will be fatiguing for me at low to medium volumes.

For those here not following the discovery thread, small update on my impression:

I pulled them off burn in for a quick listen a couple hours ago (at about 20hrs so far). Noticed either slightly more bass (or I've adjusted by letting my ears relax overnight). Bass is still rolled off IMO and is more mid-bass centric.

I can now EQ'ed them to an acceptable (to me) level or to even more bass than I usually want.

They are a somewhat bright IEM, fortunately that 5.5-6khz spike doesn't seem to bother me like it does you.

I’m typically quite sensitive to a spike at 5.5KHz, but based on Crinacle’s graphs, upon comparing it to the T4, which I like a lot, and can tolerate, I thought the T2 Plus would be tamer. Seeing as you like the T4 more, yet are sensitive to that frequency on the T2 Plus, does it also bother you on the T4? I did notice on your graph that the 5.5KHz peak was more intense compared to the 8KHz peak, than what is depicted on Crinacle’s graph. How does your T2 Plus graph compare to your T4 graph? Just curious. Thanks for the review!

We have some slight variation between our graphs but they are generally the same, especially if you compare his T4 and his T2 Plus and my set. Away from computer right now, but I'll say, that the T4 does measure with more uneven treble like on the photo from Crin. It could also be slightly due to the fit. I tried many tips and think I have a good seal but I never really fully felt as comfortable with the fit as I did with the T4. I also don't think the Blon BL03 fit me very well either.

T4 feels quite significantly more intense/peakier than T2+ to me.

Did anyone get electrocuted by their T2 Plus yet? I think I have a bad grounding for my desktop rig.
