The T1's have no problems with dynamics.
If they don't sound dynamic then blame the amp. Some amps don't do well with the 600ohm impedance of the T1's.

Lyr does outstanding job driving HD650 so I guess it should work fine with T1's also.

Yes, no problems driving it.

The real question is whether the Lyr and T1 work well together and you like the sound signature.

The Senn 650 is a dark sounding headphone; the T1 is a lot brighter but warm.

The Lyr should be decent enough for the T1's as long as you realise the Lyr will be the weaklink of the two.
You will have great options to upgrade when the time comes and the T1's will readily reveal the improvements .

Sounds great to me. I listen to nearly everything except Rap and Hip-Hop, from John Lenon over Taylor Swift to Slipknot. Not sure what bass heavy means here, are HD650 bass heavy for example ?

the T1 have a good amount of bass, i'd say its about the same as HD 650, but better in all aspects. with my WA2, the T1 can have quite a bit of impact.

i enjoy my T1's even  for rap and hiphop, but their much better at rock, acoustic, pop, and just about anything else. they're great all rounders

^^^This.  However, I would say is not the same - but flat out better in all areas...

I went from the HD 650 to the T1s and let me say this: Just go out and buy the things right now the difference is night and day. The HD 650 are an oppressive humid fog filled night and the T1s are a beautiful clear sunshine filled day. You will not regret it.

Should I get a dac or keep my current setup?
Stx - rca - wa2 - T1 and stx - t1
I'm not sure how much of a difference a dac will make but the differences between the stx and wa2 are clear as day.
Just need to have an idea what I'm saving for or if it's even necessary. I mean everything nowadays is a dac from phone to PC to ps3, cd player, laptop so I honestly don't know if there are any real benefits from a dedicated dac. All it does it convert digital to analogue no?

Edit: Dont worry, I'm going to save for the Peachtree DAC-iT.

A lot of talk about DACs in this thread all of a sudden!

I upgraded from Asus Xonar Essence ST to Resonessence Labs Concero recently and that was a very clear upgrade - music much more detailed, solid, space between instruments, all of that. The ST card almost felt muddy in hindsight - although I was very happy with it until I heard better.

Currently trying out T1s with my Concero -> Audio GD SA-31.

I was considering the concero too but wasn't a fan of it's usb and connectors. (will see, still got a few weeks to decide)
Thanks for clearing my doubts with the dacs ^^
Was a little worried whether it was worth it or not.
