The New Tangzu Audio Zetian Wu Planar In-Ear Monitor

Under-rated in my opinion. I’ve been listening to mine today. The lush but completely controlled bass/midrange is excellent on these.
TTROMSO is truly special. I have somehow been able to slightly modify the response with silver hybrid cables to that (to me) very much balances the tone. Actually coming back to it truly hit home how much of a straight-up value the TTROMSO is. When you add fit and comfort again amazing! Criminally overlooked and under-appreciated!

The Penon Audio G4 cable seems in all my testing to optimize the TANGZU Zetian Wu?

Yeah, they fit great! They look cool too. The total package is very nice.

I think TTROMSO was unlucky in that a lot of releases get crowded out simply due to the volume of new stuff coming onto the market. YST-02 is in a similar position. Both of those are better than equivalently priced IEMs that have captured much more attention.

Zetian Wu has been lucky in that Celest's release was marred by KZ questioning the validity of their planar designation. KZ hasn't gained a lot of enthusiasm for it's planars. Then Talos was overpriced to include 2 BAs that everybody seems to just want turned off. Now Moondrop has gone for a specialist brighter tuning which is quite distant from Harmon, which is what their fan base was expecting. Tangzu has dropped a well tuned competitor to Timeless and Hook X at a cheaper price. Lack of competition has given it breathing space to shine and gain acceptance. Lets face it, as a group we have a remarkably short attention span!

I'm seeing a trend where mediocre sounding low quality build products are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too overpriced while excellent products are priced below sound quality level imho.
Or the $159 IEM that's reduced to $79 on release, wow 50% off, what a bargain. $75 in sales if it's still selling, otherwise $49. AND STILL GROWING IN POPULARITY! :L3000:

My set just landed. Initial impression: details! This set is extra crisp sounding. Excellent separation and placement as well.

Some have said the shells feel too light or cheap? I don’t think so. They feel like they’re made with nice quality resin and the weight seems fully appropriate. The stock cable and “balanced” tips are working great for me so far.

More impressions once I’ve had them for a week or so…

With the lightweight semi custom shells, they are really comfortable to wear. They have a more interesting presentation than the P1 Max but that's to be expected from a mild V compared to a neutral tuning. Everything sounds natural. No sibilance, shoutiness or weird peaks. Non fatiguing but not dull or lifeless. Very pleased with them. The only reason I'm not wearing them now, is because I want to hear a few other things that arrived in the mail.
