I find a good ground game match with multiple submission attempts much more interesting now that I understand what each type of submission requires.  I did go into watching MMA expecting the brawl, which are interesting, but technical BJJ fights and technically sound stand up involving good boxing/kickboxing is what I've learned to enjoy.

I do understand and appreciate the ground game and have been following MMA for a long time ( Long before the UFC1/Royce Gracie days ). It is just that I enjoy a stand up fight more. Many good strikers have a good ground game anyway and choose to strike most of the time- chuck Liddell; Dan Henderson etc..A lot of them are my favourite fighters.
Nothing wrong with Sonnen wanting to take Silva down, he was fighting to win. I just don't care to watch it. The first round of the second fight sums it up.

^ I agree, it was boring even though he had to do what gave him the best chance. Speaking of, every fight in UFC 149 was boring. Each fight was boo'd by the crowd, including the main event. Pretty sad.

Did anyone see it? Or we're you fortunate enough to miss it?

I saw it.... It was very boring. Not a strong fight card and everyone was cautious.

That last card was pretty lackluster.  The only exciting fight was the submission of the night.

I agree, hence only two pictures from the fights.  One of the submission.  That kid, Riddle, seems happy with his life, always smiling, having fun.

Dana White didn't like it at all.

What do you guys think about Shogun/Brandon Vera getting the next title shot against Jon Jones?

Apparently Lyoto and Ryan Bader also have the same title opportunities too. UFC on FOX this week is gonna be very interesting to watch.

UFC on Fox4 is amazing! There is a night and day different between this and UFC149. Great knock outs and great submission. Dana White must be laughing again.

I missed the first fight but the rest were all great. Definitely nothing like the previous one.

Pretty much made up for the crappy 149.  I watched it twice.

But still, I can't remember the first fight.  Swick?

The first televised one?  I think it was Swick on his comeback fight after a long break due to injuries and illness.

just caught the main event. that 2nd round started strong for Shogun but he was getting careless and taking a lot of hits. Good fight though. muay thai fighters are always exciting to watch.

^ Agreed - I realize if its close the champ usually gets the nod, but I thought Edgar had the win.

Always excited about Jones. I know right? What's up with GSP?
