Hi, just wanna ask will the ibasso dx50 be able to drive hd800 by itself? Do I need to connect it to another amp in order to get reasonable sound quality for hd800? Or should I just go straight to dx100? But tbh tho, I prefer dx50 way more than dx100 :)

I'd wait for the DX90 in your case, best of both worlds.

Hello everybody,

I am thinking about buying a dx50. I might be one of the few guys who actually wants to use the coaxial out with high resolution files, so I need to be sure that it works with 24/88 - 96 - 192. Can anyone please do a quick test? That'd be great.

The one thing that's bothered me about my DX50 is the unreliability of the hardware buttons. They do work but usually take a few presses (although if the screen is already on they tend to work more quickly I believe). So couple of questions:

1. How common a complaint is this?

2. If it is a common complaint (I believe so), do you think the DX90 might rectify this? Given that it seems to be only internal changes, I'm thinking probably not?

What's dx90? Is it the middle section of dx50 and dx100? I meant is it better than dx50 and cheaper than dx100?

DX90 is a yet to be released player with the same case and UI as the DX50 but with reworked internals. It will have dual Sabre DACs and a new amp section for starters... and yes, it's an upgrade to the DX50 but I think the DX100 will continue to be their reference player for now at least...

This is completely normal. It is not a reliability issue. It takes a second or two to pause/play a song(same with touchscreen). If you change song with the physical button while music is playing, it will too take a second or two. Now, stop the song and spam the forward or rewind physical button, it is smooth silk. Is more of a slow UI thingy. If you spam the buttons 10-20 times to actually work, then your dx50 is defected..

Press once, wait a second or two. It should work

Never had or have a problem with the buttons on my DX50, and they have received a real workout.

Follow your recommendations, I had just upgraded from Shure SE530 to SE846 and it sounds wonderfully with DX50 especially with black filter. So I wanna ask you guys which amp under $300 will work best with the combo DX50 and SE846? Thank you.
