i left the player on continuous burn,
on a single charge it passed the 20hr!! on "all songs" shuffle mode and didn't turnd off ..

when i checked, it had a signle battery bar that a min later disappeared, i think cause of the screen and pretty sure it could squeeze another hour or so
so i tunred it off to charge it for the next burn

It lasted that long? Beats me. I have a full charge and on the 5 hour mark and it,s already down to the last 2 bar.

Anyway, there's another thing I found out in regards to the finishing of my unit. The battery cover is a little miss aligned and have this sharp edge pointing out which can be felt when running my fingers over it. The plate with wordings just below the battery cover is attached a little off center thus causing this. Anyone here having this with your player.

I assume you have a headphone/IEM plugged in to DX50 when you run it for 20 hrs?

Hi

I have been reading this thread since page 1. I’m not really new to this hobby. I got an iPod 5th gen/iBasso Boa and a decent IEM before. I sold my rig since I started vaping. Now am back again (lol) and my current set up is sansa clip+/C&C BH2 and 2 decent IEM (e10 and m1).

I got DX50 and X3 on my list. I had a chance to audition X3 when it was introduced here in the Philippines. I love the sound it but it’s kinda bit muddy. A fellow headfier friend of mine has DX50/ALO National. I tried his DX50 without the amp and WOW!! The sound stage and separation is MAD!! I plug the amp and it feels like I don’t want to return it lol.

I’ll be pulling the trigger maybe on the 09th or 10th batch. It’s good to know that it has a good synergy with the BH2. I’ll be getting a rockit sounds R50 too. I usually listen to incubus, nightwish and some lacuna coil tracks(mostly rock/post/metal core/gothic stuff). Hope everything pairs up properly.

Thank you guys for providing a ton of information about the dap.

Lol.

I have an ipt4/fiio e11 as a back up.
Vaping is not really that legal here but they don't have enough reason to ban it.

will there be any damage to the dx50 if you let it run (let's say the sample above) long enough without a load/iem/headphone connected to it?

I don't know if there is a negative impact running DX50 without a load. Somebody else can comment on this? I'm just implying his DX50 might have lasted 20 hrs because he let it run without any load.

I know nothing of loads in this context so don't take this the wrong way as I'm also curious. How much could a pair of IEM like the Westone 4r possibly drain the battery?

Did some basic measurements as promised, and here are the results: headphone-out output impedance is 0.7ohm, line-out output impedance is 124ohm. Low gain headphone-out max voltage 1.079Vrms, mid gain 1.75Vrms, high gain 2.655Vrms . Line-out FR cure is flat. Headphone-out FR curve has some minor bass roll-off due to output capacitors. With a 47ohm dummy load, it is -0.75dB @ 20Hz with corner frequency @ 8Hz. Output capacitance is estimated to be around 400uF. Purely on RMAA result, LO looks cleaner than HO (which is expected of course), though both don't measured quite as good as X3, especially on IMD. Since they are still well below the 1% threshold, it doesn't seem to be of any major concern. Output power is quite good, comparable to most standalone portable amps.
