The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

DHL came to me on the third day from shipment with some fees. Since my replacement DX50 may pick up fees again, I opted for EMS. They shipped it two days ago and it's going to be at my door today, making it the third day. We'll see what the fees are with EMS this time. :) Btw this is Canada, where customs and postal services are relatively crappy.

Hello all -

Are there particular headphones that pair well with the DX50? I'm set on picking one up, but not sure which headphones I should go with. I listen to rock, jazz, guitar instrumental, etc. and would prefer something closed to block out noise and to avoid annoying others. A nice soundstage would be good, but not sure how realistic this is with closed headphone. I would be willing to spend up to $200, though less would be perfectly fine as well :)

I do not plan on buying an amp, by the way.

For $200 maybe you can look at some used ath-esw9 or hd25.

For the guy looking for really good $200 headphones...go with Senn HD25's. I still have my first pair for those rare times my wife takes over on long drives...lol

HD25s work extremely well with the DX50.

For below $500 I don't think anything comes close to the mad dogs for a closed can. It may not be that portable though but I've used it as such

Momentum?

i tried the momentums at B&H in NYC yesterday. They sounded great but for the sheer indestrucible value and portable-ness...go with the HD25's. They're just about impossible to destroy...seriously. They sound GREAT and "someone" on here is always selling a pair.

Momentum?

Although I've never heard the momentum, I can't believe it could sound better than the Mad Dogs. But then that's a matter of preference I guess.
