That sounds like a nice price ($80 bucks)

To the guy who PM'd me.

I do NOT rec the Cowon iAudio 10
It's a horrific UI.

Jeteffects is nice but I learned to use it because I'm relentless and stubborn.....and now I'm pleased but it was a battle. Me and cb can emulate each others settings which is great but I do not advise buying it.

If you buy it anyway Music Bee is great for organizing/tagging/album art for the Cowon.

These AA will last about 3 hours on heavy bass so I got 2 sets of 10 so i got about 6 hours of slam. That about covers it

The 1st paper bass test has almost 800 views and it's buried ........I have no idea where the hits came from?
This is before cb intentionally or not used a 1/2 A4 which works much better as it's hard to push that weight......this vid below? That was so easy any can could do it

I'm kind of tempted to try out the SZ2000s but does anyone have a good review of the SZ2000s vs XB1000s? The XB1000s put out a lot of bass especially when EQ'd right, so I'm wondering if it would actually be better or not.

I'm a sz fanboy bassaholic 45hz hit smoking junkie

The dude with both is at a 7 day rave.

I couldn't argue with 70mm of diaphragm (XB1000) though...70mm

I hear the xb do **** like this though

zzzzzap.....boooooooom

Comparing to the SONY XB1000's, the SZ2000's have more prominent mids and highs even when heavily bass EQ'd, the mids particularly retain their presence and clarity, where the XB1000's mids and highs seem a little recessed in comparison with bass leading and everything else following behind.

The XB1000 does have a harder bass slam than the JVC's, but I'd guess that's down to their 70mm Goliath sized drivers.

All in all, the JVC SZ2000's are serious bass canons that deliver a mighty slam that will put a smile on any bassheads face for sure.

I have the xb1000 too I will do a bass test tomorrow using my set up what I can say about the xb1000's is they have the best bass that massages your face what I mean by that lets say you have a bassy track one off bass mekaniks track the bass it vibrates your whole face like its following the frequency of the bass you can feel it start at the forehead and end at the back of your neck it is one of a kind thats for sure, while the sz1000 bass is like a big punch to your head they are 2 different experiences.

if you want cowon, some of them support rockbox, which is a fantastic OS for DAP's. Don't know if it would keep the effects and dsp's if you installed it though. :-\ ONLY SOME OF THE COWONS ARE SUPPORTED. Check out Rockbox's site if you want. The eq on rockbox is pretty nice. I'm guessing devices with more capable internal amps than my sansa c250 wouldn't distort with a lot of bass boost. C250 distorts with too much bass boost. By a lot, I mean 18db@30hz and at 60hz. Maybe just lowering treble by 24db would work better.

Does anyone know how to use Electri-Q or Pro Q on a VST? I got the trial Version of Pro-Q and Electri for free on their website but I don't have a clue how to use them as an equalizer with a song. I really wanted to test the capacity of some old cans I had with an equalizer but and I wanted to try some of these equalizers I mentioned instead of using the ones present on smartphones

Thanks, not sure why that didn't show up when I typed in xb1000. Then again the browser at work is pretty broken and old. I guess that kind of confirms it for me that I'm just going to have to stick with the ones I have now until something better comes out. The Ultrasone Pro 900s I have are good in the mid bass and have some sub bass but they just can't hit those low notes and rumble like the sonys.

if I could keep one basshead headphone it would be the xb1000's thats for sure they just do bass really well, however you cant find them anymore you will be really lucky to get a pair however there build quality is not to be admired, also it may sound odd but the sz1000's handle a lot more power than the xb1000's they get to a point where 30 seconds in a track if you play it loud enough the bass will make you take them off for a breather, the drivers are just so powerful its unreal and they are so cheap also and for now if you get them you will be satisfied.I would put the sz1000/2000 and the xb1000 on the same level.

I would sell the pro900's and buy the SZ's and have change left over, the 900's are not basshead.

I dont have the sz2000's however I think they sound exactly the same its just the 2000 has premium parts that is all, if you want to pay extra for premium material its your call but the sz1000's are good enough for me if they ever get discontinued I will be buying the sz2000's in a heart beat headphones like these come once every 10 years.
