It's like BMW have never made a 4-series (that I know of), even though they've made 1,3,5,6,7 series.
 
I knew there would never be a player in between the X3 and it's big brother (regardless of the big brother being called X5, X6, 7 or whatever), but was just being mischievous, to see if anyone would believe me about a 'middle' player!

BMW is about to come up with 4 series. It will be basicly 3 series coupe/convertible but they will call it 4 series. Means also we will have M4. However this is really way out of topic, I prefer keep my mouth shut now

On a serious note, I'd really love to see twin SD card slots on the X5. It's going to sound great with .flac / .alac / .ape / .wav / .lwma files, so to be able to have a large memory (e.g. 128gb x 2) would be fantastic.

it does't matter, we all know the next iPhone will be better, should we keep the money and  wait the next generation ? we plan to develop x1, x3, x5 target to different customers. so it depend on our customer . don't forget we have so many kinds of headphone amp and
 
E6 still the best sales in quantity although E12 is the best in SQ and build quality.

X5, for over $300, may be out of the budget of many people who want to buy a mp3 with a price similar to ipod. They may want to spend more money rather for the their headphone.
So, I think FiiO still needs produce a better version of X3, something like X03k.
It's like there is HD800, but people are still very happy with HD600/HD650, or even HD598.

This X5 really got me thinking.
Must be on the pair with HM901/AK100/DX100/and Tera Player.
If Fiio can achive that type of sound that will be a hit, after all Fiio mentioned that X5 will be the best they ever created.

Actually I can only afford the X3 right now, but I've decided to wait for the X5 since I can afford it by then without actually breaking the bank (account) but I'd still want to get my hands on the X3 for a long enough listen.

if fiio announces x7 , I will wait for it , because I don't exactly need or drooling all over X3 and X5 , I am still interested, doesn't mean I will just grab whatever comes first
