Fixed by George in x5 iii thank My x5 will not play when I select "Play all file"
It will play songs selected within the folder parameter.
Any idea on a fix?

Hello guys
I would like to use my x5 as transport for ab external dac.
Does it work the otg connection with latest firmware? Needi isomething to do?
I see that some of you paired it successfully with Mojo.

It works very well with a Mojo. You can just use a stereo 3.5 to 3.5 cable from the digital out to digital in. It's that simple. (As long as you have it set to DAC instead of Storage in the settings.) It's actually easier to get the X5 to work with an external DAC than it is to do it with the X5iii. (I own both, and a Mojo)

i am tempted to make this jump to use a proper UI , WIFI , BT instead of using my phone.
But there are too much options out of here...Ak70 Opus Pioneer Ibasso and so on.
Whta do you suggest..keep the Fiio and use it as transport and maybe for tidal use ipad with a dac attached?

With the number of options out there, it is really hard to give an advice. Have you checked out FiiO's Q5? It has BT and ATP-X as well as the same AMP modules like X7mkii

A while back, in fact not long after my last post in this thread, my lightly used X5 gen 1 suddenly died while being used as a transport for my Mojo via coax. It just bricked for no apparent reason. All attempts since have failed to resuscitate it, and I've given up.

I'm afraid this experience has soured me on Fiio completely.

I've now ordered a Hidisz AP60 to use as my Mojo transport based on favourable reviews elsewhere on this forum.

Thanks to all for your help with my previous questions, and thanks especially for inspiring me to get a Mojo in the first place --- that's the big positive that came out of this experience.

But Fiio products? Never again.

Yeah, that's what saddens me the most. I considered the X5 to be the perfect transport for the Mojo, especially given the coax connectivity.

My first X5 started deleting the memory cards nearly every time I used it. Nothing I tried fixed the problem. Happily I was able to find a new, old stock replacement for a very good price. You might be lucky if you seek out a "new" X5.

There is no such thing as a 512GB microSD card. If someone tries to sell you one, maybe don't trust them. Currently 400GB is the maximum size offered.

Actually, Integral and PNY did recently release legit 512 mSD cards. The X5 should work with the 512gb card but who knows what the performance will be like indexing a full 512gb card.

I wonder who makes the inner parts of the cards, usually it is Samsung or Sandisk who makes the insides, so makes one wonder why none of those two companies released a 512GB mSD before PNY or Integral
