I just want to point out that this player is estimated to be price at $200! Not $300, not $500. These requests for some of these features that people want are just ridiculous. Basically, FiiO wants to create something that is simple yet still delivers high quality sound. Most of the DAPs on the market now, don't offer WiFi, and don't offer the capability to Rockbox etc. Asking for things to be added, to what I consider to be a gem, is just rude and is getting rather old.

Anyway I don't think it would require wifi.  Just the ability to create a simple log file that you can upload when you connect to your PC.  It's possible with many current DAPs so it's not an outrageous idea.  I'm just wondering if it's something FiiO has thought about or not.  For those who are addicted to Last.fm being able to 'scrobble' is quite important.  There are quite a lot of people who primarily use their phones for this reason.

interesting to see that the X5 that someone spotted on the X3 in the youtube vid is a reality - it is a higher spec X3 coming out in October !!
 
As for the review I tried google translate but couldnt get the gist of the sound quality part which is my interest - hopefully someone else can help with that

He says the sound signature of X3 is unexpectedly different from E17, a gadget that he is very familiar with. The sound signature of X3 seems like a better version of Sony D50.
In comparison of with E17 about the sound quality, he thinks that X3 ties with E17 on mid, having a far better high (more extended and vivid), but the low is a little bit worse than E17.
In general, he thinks that X3 is neutral and well-balanced.

isn't Sony D50 a recorder? like one of those pro audio line recorder? I used to use it once when I was in my church media team , do people use it as an audio player?
