The input/output is still the same as original, digital output, line out, headphone out. not line in and digital in. so it can't be used as an Amp or DAC.

I am quite excited about the hardware update. Especially with the new AMP section. AD8397 is a very popular solution on DIY forums, especially among Teclast T51 moddings, so, X3 might end up as an outstanding DAP, no extra portable amp needed... And this is what most of us crave for, compact all-in-one, decent solution.

Yep, this is affordable. Since we will probably have to wait another 6 months, I will kill the time with that Hisound player

Even released in 6 months time from now, That will be April 2013.We should have Pono player out by then, but 150-200 usd is still very good for a 192/24 bit DAC.
I hope will accept 64 GB micro sd, and battery life to be above 15 hours.
Fiio every single user on head-fi will but a X3 from you.
You said the design has changed, so please when you have time lets us see the final design.
