I flashed it back to 2.15....more volume, less congested sounding......awesome, thanks for the info.....man am I glad I went back. This suits my taste better. Its very cool you can do that, I thought all firmware was flash ahead no going back.....

i also like a lot the ability to switch back and forth between various FWs - i also just switched back to 2.1.8 (from 2.2.0) cause i thought that 2.2.0 started to sound 'plastic' ?

anyway , this is probably just mind games , but i like 2.1.8 so i will lay here for a while

i don't remember my impressions with 2.1.5 , but will probably get back to it sometime soon

2.3.0 though is going to the recucle bin,it is the only one i found bad right out of the box

ok I just tried firmware 2.20 , 2.1.5 , and 2.3.0
my gear is ibasso dx90 , zycable mini-mini , aune B1 headphone amp and dunu titan 1

it goes like 2.3.0 > 2.2.0 > 2.1.5

I like 2.3.0 the best

2.3 is the latest but the best is up to you. My 90 is relatively new and came with 2.15 which I loved the sound of. My inner geek whispered "upgrade to 2.3" enough that I did and it was ok but I kept thinking it just didn't sound as open or free sounding to me as 2.15 so I found out here I could flash back which I didn't think was a  thing  easily done. I'm leaving it at 2.15 unless its super glitchy in the long run-it runs fine for me by the way, 2.3 was glitchier for me.
With all things music your ears determine the best in the long run I think or rather know at 57 and way to old.

Gee wizz...

All this FW malarky! Thankfully I've had mine a few weeks now and no problems at all....yet. Soundwise its the analogue sounding 2.0.0 all the way...everything else is flat and screechy.

I had installed and settled on 2.2.0 but decided to shuffle the cards a bit and put back 2.1.8 , which i also like (paired with a K3003)

I will probably try out also 2.1.5. later on - besides the 2.3.0. which i hated , i remember all other FWs sounding nice with my K3003s

I think it's nice having that many different-sounding FWs to choose from , it keeps things spicy and far from boring

What I did was spend around 3 days over a few hour session juggling through most of the above firmwares mentioned when my 1Plus2 arrived, until I got the firmware and tip selection right. After settling on v2.20 I leave everything alone. And my DX90 always stays with my 1Plus2 as a complete rig rarely used with any other gear.

I've always been a latest and greatest kinda guy but I really felt like I was missing something so I went back. I've never heard any of the other firmwares so I'm not sure if I'd like them or not.

I have found my favorite all time iem... My new DN 1000 from DUNU are something else, I love them!

i cannot stand it.  I have spent so many years trying to find a good portable music device and I think I"ve finally found it with the dx90 and I spend a lot of money and hours and hours downloading the playlists and the playlists are not &$@$((#* recognized. Please.  Someone tell me that I've done something wrong at please tell me that this WORKS.  I love the sound of the dx90 but if i have to choose and play one track at a time it is a pile of sh*#5t.

years ago I bought the fiio x3  and at that time i loved the sound, but I could not use my playlists. I don't care how great the sound quality, if you have to choose one track at a time and can't use playlists then that player should be cast into the pits of hell.

it's been at least 10 hours. I've spent over 10 hours going through the whole processs of updating and downloading with my dx90.  And i really like the sound, the sound is TERRIFIC.  But since tha last post I made, less than an hour ago, I was once able to play one song from one playlist at a time.  Now I am only able to play one playlist, from the 5 playlists I installed. I do playlists the same way on my HTC M8 and I have no trouble.  They sound like crap but at least the song is there. It doesn't matter how great it sounds if you can't listen to it.  Duh.

I would love for someone to tell me that I've been an idiot and that I haven't followed the intstructions correctly.  Please. And I will apologize profusely and sing the praises of ibasso dx90.  I've already been speaking about how great they sound.

I am not sure what you are doing with playlists and downloading. My playlists are just setup in the player itself, play a song and add it to the playlist. Making sure settings are correct so it loops through all of them and that's it. There is no making a playlist with software and using that by syncing it to the DX90, if that's what you are trying to do.
