Wow, perhaps just what I need!
How would they compare to the FX101?
Also what about those MEelec earphones?
Oh yea. The Mp8320. Only if those crazy Chinese read my thread and figured out they can create a real winner by changing the housing a bit and throwing in some decent tips..But alas those are mass produced and obviously made cheap. The sound however is one of kind for the price. Which leads me to something new.!
So I got a PM from Majin who wrote me about a little product I should take a listen to. So in the spirit of discovery why not. At first he wanted to send me his pair and then then I found out how much it cost. Lol. It would have cost more for him to send me his pair and return them than for me to just buy one..So here we go. Surprise Surprise. Another discovery for ya'll to chew on!
Introducing another cheaply Chinese made iem.. THE AWEI ES800M.
If you all check ebay $6.00-$7.50 free shipped.. Yes you read right these cost as much as a $5.00 ft long at your local subway with tax. Lol they even throw in a decent pouch. A thicker flat cord and 3 different sized tips that aren't bad at all. In fact I was very surprised how well these are actually made. Build wise these have nothing to do with their price. In fact I think I spent more on tips at Radio Shack. The all solid metal buds that come in here solid as the entire build with a solid metal plug end as well
Specs
9mm Drivers
Sensitivity 95db
16ohm
Freq 20hz-20khz
cord length 1.2m
I only wish the MP8320 came packaged like this. These I know for a fact will last longer than most earphone let alone the Mp8320. The solid thick flat cord is tangle free and rubber coated.. Perfect gym buds? Yes. Perfect gift buds? Yes. Perfect sounding? No.
Sound.
So lets get down to the nitty gritty. These are bass earphones. At first listen I was quite shocked at just how much bass these have. We are talking close to the XB90EX level in bass. Yes for $6. I would actually like to call these the cheap mans XB90 actually. They don't have a wide or a deep stage like the XB90 or the refinements of them but what they do have is a sound that is acceptable for casual use. In fact for bassy genres these will hit them bass notes with sheer authority perhaps a bit too much..
There is mid bass and sub bass in big quantities and the overall sound is a bit on the warm side. These do resemble a bit the sound signature of the ATH- CKS earphones in the way they are tuned..The balance is definitely skewed toward the bottom half and while this may make some of you guys cringe with the idea of getting these to try so why would I throw these on the discovery thread? Simple for the cost these are the brawniest bass earphones I have ever heard. Guys that want the low lo rumble but don't want to spend the $100 for something like the XB90. Can get your bass fix from these..Overall sound is actually balanced pretty good and sound decent enough with vocals and instrumental music.. Another reason why these made the thread. These would actually make great gifts for friends and loved ones that are just starting out on listening to music..Your crazy nephew that loves his Dub and Hiphop will have never heard any better and love you for giving these to him.
The SQ of the MP8320 or the SHE3580 are better than these but it is the build and overall package of these that won me over. plus their wow inducing bass end..These lack highs extension and sparkle of higher end phones as well as having somewhat of a smoothed out mid section that isn't defined all that well. But I am willing to bet you guys these are easily comparable with beats earphones and are probably built better too..For the cost. Lol. These are funny. You would never ever expect this type of build and the sound is acceptable for casual listeners for certain..
For bass fans. Give them a go. Or if you want a nice solid set of buds for the gym or you need a nice gift for your friends that don't know their highs from their bass. These look nice, built nicer, and sound decent. That bass end will wow you and your friend or family member you gave these to will love you for giving them the biggest brawniest bass earphones they have ever heard and will think you spent a fortune on them. Happy listening fellas.
Can someone say.. Rebrand?
