Small update on Dusk: Spring Tips are still not my favorite. Final Type E Clear/Reds are good but think the Dunu S&S pair the best cause of the chonky'ness. But while DSP tuning is the smoothest thing ever, Analog is definitely growing on me. Been demoing a new workstation desktop dac/amp solution (Fosi SK-02 vs Fiio K11 shoot out is on going) so haven't tried the Dusk on my Archel 3 Pro yet but they do love power. Also Dusk looks great with a black/silver Xinhs cable I got.

Ha. Yeah I'm in my late 40s and still go to stupidly loud shows without ear protection. Luckily I'm still hearing clearly to about 16k. Think a lot of it's luck of the draw. But like near vision, we all lose our upper-end hearing eventually.

Both are sub-bass heavy IEMs, but the Hype 4 has a more extended upper treble, whereas the Doscinco has more upper midrange and lower treble.

In technicalities, the Hype 4 is ahead for soundstage and imaging and layering.

Both seem similar for majority. So does soundstage and imaging depend on what happens around 8k and further on - as the deviation seems to be there with Hype going higher and then falling off at end? Treble extention dictates staging to an extent?
Or is it something else in the drivers itself?

SpinFits are still the name of the game for me in tips, better treble extension and soundstage in general, if a bit forward sounding. I wasn’t big on the type of silicone from the CP100+ though, I don’t recall the sound differences but I dismissed them pretty quickly for being more irritating in comfort.

I find it to be in an upper league compared to Artti R1 in terms of details. Also 3 times more expensive when I got them. The bass on R1 is not very detailed to me, more rumble than individual notes and nuances. The highs are too laid back. EA1000 is the opposite.

Foam tips seem to be generally good for that, then. Hmmm.. Andy Audiovault had suggested to me in a comment reply long ago but I had ignored thinking foam is good for the bass and doesn't do much for stage. Hmmm, my bad. Should try em out on a couple of iems to see how it plays out.

If any of y'all have the Quattro and the Correir Brass tips, I would urge you combine them. I find it a great pairing, curios to hear thoughts from those who have had the Quattro longer, I've only had them about two weeks.

One thing is the illusion of the stage “openness” is also controlled by the literal openness of the fit. For example, changing between M15 (leaky) and M20 (not leaky) module on U12t changes the perception of stage despite not having much change in FR. Silicone tips can be leaky, whilst foam tips tend to be quite isolating, so stage can feel smaller, as if the windows to the room has been closed.

I tend to use foams more nowadays because they smoothen the peaks, allowing / forcing me to turn up the volume a few notches, making the rest of the frequencies stand out more, aka more “detailed”. Unless I listen to Final E5000. Using foam on that one is a bad idea

I only did the shortest test because I'm too lazy, but even with that, I still got bored listening and didn't really vibe with the last track, which is probably the reason why I got a low score on it lol.

So far both stated that this is the best CCA they've tried
As Kesobie noted in the price range, while very close in performance to Simgot EM6L and trade blows with Celest Phoenixcalls, apparently it still outperformed by Simgot EA500LM.

"Metallic timbre" (from Kesobie review) got me worried. Think I'll try to resist this week's hype.
