Lmao! Nah, he linked me to another head-fier wanting to trade for the FitEar 334. I've always wanted to hear the 1p2 so I took him up on it. Who knows, maybe I'll hate it? I sure would like to put that grand back in my pocket though :/

lol I think deep down inside we all want to hate the gear to save our pockets from pain :p.

radio_head's post may have been deleted? Or is it earlier in pages < 7? Either way, that's enough serious make-belief to last me a few months.

Oh no, I don't think he's in that thread.  Just saying, in general, radio_head.

Usually the trolls hang out in this particular section of the forum. Who knew we'd have a troll trolling the troll ...

I'm starting to think he's John Cleese trying out new material.

Welcome back, CdC!!!

Aside from a few of my diary posts, but it's not like I put effort into those, right?

Oh my word, I'm so sorry MF.

I bring shame to the thread.

Does this redeem me even an iota?

her diary post that I still haven't read and plan to

The cost of freedom is too much; it has taken away my mental capacity of remembering things that I found interesting that requires time to digest. NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I AM BONED.

Long time no see! How are you doing? :).

Yeah, it's a bit better nowadays, or at least physically. While I was gone I got an actual diagnose to my depression (bipolar, most likely type II) so it's been a bit upside down for me. How to accept a fact like that and plan my life according to the diagnose and you know, not knowing whether this or that or anything else... but I then later realized that I'm just going to let life go on like it always did, except for adjusting medication and that I now have a fuller understanding of my behaviour (all these projects that I take upon me or start with most of them just flat out failing..). This can be used to my strength and I will do so, to the best of my abilities.

Thanks MuppetFace, and hey, regarding one of your diary posts, I do in fact read them whenever I can, like now. :)

I see from this collecting below that you have taken a stricter focus on music (and movies, let's just call it art) in your diary posts instead of headphones (although you seem infatuated with fostex and lcd-1). I like it a lot!

Okay, first off, there's some hiss in the DarkStar... With the HD 650, I've got to turn it up to high noon to have it noticeably bother me.  And since that is 3 "hours" above what I would consider my max comfort volume, it's not exactly a deal breaker.  However, with low-impedance/high-sensitivity cans, it gets way worse.  With the Perfect Sound d901 (doing initial impressions on those right now), there's a constant hiss regardless of volume.  In fact, the hiss is even there when the DarkStar is off, which I don't understand.

Check out your window. It might be head-fiers protesting your moderating.

Thanks guys! I see about 4000 or so new posts since last.. please excuse me, but I'm not going to read the majority of them.

Hey! Long time no see!

Nice to see you are well enough to chat on nonsensical topics with us :) What you are going through is tough. I know it from very close people and from a (very small) depression I had this year. Not much more I can say without sounding cliche...

So I'd listened to Boards of Canada's Tomorrow's Harvest at work a couple times over the past week. Last night I finally had time for a proper sit down and listen on the he-man stereo, in the dark late at night.

And guess what? Turns out that whole album is nightmare fuel. Instead of streamlining and refining their work to the utmost polish, they'd used their years since the last album to pack it to the absolute brim with half-audible voices, up to and including (on "Telepath") a staticky voice in the background coaxing a numbers radio station voice to "do it again." The melodic numbers serve not so much to provide relief as to provide the shallow reassurance that although the horror is real, things are okay as long as it hasn't fulfilled its purposeless inevitability yet.

I think I slept about 45 minutes between going to bed and going to work this morning.
