I
I bought one of these last years, and they appeared to be new.. Also nothing in the box, nor on it, that suggest a refurbished unit.., Go for it..Adorama once again has the focal elegia at $299

nothing in the box,
I think it's smart that Focal, Hifiman, Meze, Sennheiser, DCA, etc. have these cheaper models to get consumers into their brand... in hopes of one day upgrading but staying loyal. Like moving from a Chevy, to a Buick, to a Cadillac.
Still works for me. Give it another try. https://www.adorama.com/fofelegia.html?emailprice=tDamn it, missed.

HA!! Meant, no documentation in the box stating the unit is refurbished..

Absolutely amazing... isn’t the Drop x Focal Elex the basically the Elegia with different pads and color scheme? The Elex is still among my favorite headphones, and I paid something like $800 for it back in the day…
No, Elegia is closed back and doesn't sound like the Elex at all (I have both and the Elex is vastly better sounding IMO).

I would never buy the Elegia at retail of $899. It's not THAT good, especially with its wonky midrange tuning and suspect headband design that's prone to cracking.Adorama once again has the focal elegia at $299

But $299? It's the ultimate closed-back steal of audiophile cans.
Hi all! Like many of you, I get email notifications for this deals thread. Please keep things like impressions and comments to the feedback thread for the specific item, that way people who are looking for information and impressions on a headphone can look there, and this thread links deals as intended. Sorry to be a nag!

Clicking that link shows a price of $399. Copy/pasting the link into your browser gets you to $299. It looks like the head-fi redirects munge the "emailprice=t" along the way...Still works for me. Give it another try. https://www.adorama.com/fofelegia.html?emailprice=t
I'm getting $299 when I click the link on multiple devices, so there may be additional factors at play like browser plugins and settings, but I'll pass that on to our dev team to look into it. Thanks!
