Dt series Beyers are a pita to recable. I've ruined a 770 driver as well.
Fatiguing in what way?
Check the membrane on the drivers. They're easy to get to. They should be domed and rounded out. If they're not, you can try adjusting them. Another cause might be stray hairs making their way onto the drivers. My practically brand new dt880s are making a very tiny paper rustling type of noise from the right ear between 10-20hz. Wouldn't have noticed it unless I'd decided to do a frequency sweep. Anything I can or should do about it?

The highs have been very annoying and somewhat plinky sounding, but I didn't use them with an amp. Had to take them off after 20 minutes. Hope my G-109 will solve this issue. Never had such problems with my K701 or HD650.
The merry go round has kinda stopped. Sold my T1s, keeping the T90s, spent some of the money on a pair of q701s. Got it out of curiosity, I'll probably sell it and rebuy the 880/250 sometime down the line.
I won't be difficult and ask you what 'plinky sounding' means. No wait, I will!
