TDK BA200 Thread

^ Yeah I know (and Annafrancesca already mentioned the circuit in her/his last post), but that's no exuse for its unwieldy shape. If they'd rounded it off at both ends, it wouldn't be half as annoying.

^ Well, you can always resort to DIY measures and round the edges. But I already had the W4 with a similarly laid-back sound signature and more practical design, so I returned the BA200.

I've only had them on for about an hour and they sound awesome.  So, so smooth yet still very detailed with pretty good bass response and a nice spacious soundstage.  I'm not going to say that I like them more than the e-Q5 right now but I'd say its just as good, I love how smooth and effortless they sound.  I can say for all the hype the MH1 has got'en (and rightfully so) that this is one under $200 IEM they don't sound as good or better than thought I still think its an amazing IEM for $20.

I see, I could have tried them but I can't give away Yamaha's beautiful bass response.

Its bass was plenty for me.. I was deciding between SE215 and BA200, told my gf (at the time) it was mainly down to clarity and bass.. Went with BA200. Back home, I let her have a listen, and she went, you went with bass?

These are designed to be worn over-the-ears only.
I've had these for more than 8 months, and the bulding quality is holding up quite nicely - my set looks and feels like a new one.

Thanks. Not disputing your experience, but I just found this on the TDK website (link below): "Cable can be worn straight down or up and over your ear to ensure a comfortable fit." Could they comfortably be worn straight down?

Wanted to thank the OP for his review. I tried a pair of ER4P recently and they were good, but just not right for me. So I sold them and was checking around and when I saw that an experienced member touted these phones, I got interested. Amazon was selling them for $159 plus I had a coupon for $25, so why not try them? Well, they are great in my view. For $134, a true bargain. As someone else noted, while the latest low budget phones, the MH1C, sound very good for the money, the BA-200s are much better to me. Having both is nice too. Now, I am going to check into a BT option so I can use these with my smartphone. I am thinking the Samsung HS3000.

I can only use them over the ear, though. Don't see the point in wearing them down.
