Thanks for the suggestion.
I got it for free with the headphones. Bought a stax stand for about $60 to go with them.
I have that as well, but one of my friend 009 are always keep inside the stax cover but still had driver dirt buildup problem after 2years
so i decided to store all my electrostatic headphone back into its original box.
i guess camera box will do a better job.
I use those for all my headphones.

The ultimate solution for protecting your electrostatic headphones: dehumidifying dry cabinet, the primary use is for protecting photographic material.
I adopted this solution many years ago and strongly recommend it for those living in humid regions.

Guys, putting the precious STAX-Headphones back into their (dense) box is not a good idea, as the accumulated moisture has then no way to escape. This is why the CPC-1 is open at its bottom! This works very well in climate zones having not too high humidity.
However if you and your headphone reside in a climate zone with high(er) humidity it is indeed a good idea to keep them in a climate chamber (as the one shown), otherwise fungus and mold might build up over time!

Stax dust filters do their job very good.(and they are part of the tuning too) Obviously one of the dust filters on his 009's had a hole on it. Moisture is what kills electrostatics, not the dust.I have that as well, but one of my friend 009 are always keep inside the stax cover but still had driver dirt buildup problem after 2years

my unit was showing 47 because I had just opened it to store one of the headphones that live there

Yes, these are the humidity conditions I have here, so just a CPC-1 is fine and I have STAX headphones since >30years and still all functioning very well
I think it’s about avoiding moisture otherwise the dust becomes tacky. The dust covers on the drivers work well, and with the push pull static system they tend to physically knock off anything by forceI have that as well, but one of my friend 009 are always keep inside the stax cover but still had driver dirt buildup problem after 2years

Oh not to forget that: in you unplug your STAX headphones and put them away "as is" the rest charge will attract dust/dirt! A good idea is to moisten ones thumb and shortcut the five pins on the STAX plug for a second to discharge the phones completely. Also great to avoid the "sticky membrane poblem" some had.
