Here's the deal: I have a nasty fever and a headache. Is there anything smooth and non-abrupt that I could listen to and not be bored? Abrupt changes in volume/pronounced snare hits sort of make my head cringe. Volume doesn't seem to be a problem.

If anyone suggests smooth Jazz, I'll smack a ho.

EDIT: In the meantime I'm listening to Elliot Smith's New Moon and I'd say it's pretty smooth and non-abrupt. Definitely worth checking out.

Hmm, I suppose an old Warren Zevon record made me feel a little bit better once when I was en fuego with fever. Hallucinations will make just about anything sound good, though, I suppose.

Another vote for Nick Drake, but especially Pink Moon - it's simple vocals, piano and acoustic guitar, nothing more. And it's beautiful.

[EDIT] Should warn you though, you better look for other stuff as well - Pink Moon will only grant you a 30 minute reprieve! It's a short one!
