I have the 7520 and they're highly impressive for the money. I'd be curious how they're going to expand on it, my take is they're going with a different sound signature.I tried the HD800 also and I did not quite like them. The treble seems to be a bit off, not realistic.
Some of the previous review statements on the Z7 standout for me.
highly detailed like my 7520
scales well with music with wide dynamic range like my 7520 and better than my other Sennheiser cans.
From my point of view the Z7 sounds like it could be a soup-up 7520 with larger drivers, case and pads.
Finally in the comments selection one user stated that the Sony Z7 is Wow and at least close to the AKG 812 which by the way cost almost $1400.
While I was planning to try the HE-560 at the RMAF but I am keeping a close eye on this.
As for the akg812 comparison, better hope they're not similar. The 812s were not the impressive with the price tag and performance.
