Sony Daps tap out at around 250mw, very unfortunate, still rocking my Kann Alpha, but I would like to upgrade to the top of the line z1 or whatever follows it.

I’ll be driving my HD6XX and HE4XX.
And I eventually want to upgrade to the LCD2C.
Hopefully the new daps can power these headphones well enough:wink:
My budget will most likely allow me to purchase the WM1A successor.

I bought my WM1Z last week because that is very likely the last chance for me to get one BNIB before it is discontinued. I seriously hope that Sony don't kill the Walkman OS because I really want to force myself to live with Android DAPs and their mediocre battery life.

Anyway there is a leaked article shared by @Damz87 in the Z1R that is interesting I'll quote it here

I wonder if they will be more powerful?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the X507 more powerful than the WM1A? If that’s true, then I would think that the successor to the WM1A will be even more powerful.

It isn't.

Found this (seems to be an approximation of how the WM1Z successor's look like):

Nice finding Mr MrWalkman. A lot or question marks in that image, except for the Android line :). By the way, what does 1X mean after the word Android?

To me, the “walk to the next level of sound” would normally mean a Walkman with higher output power. But one of the Satos in the team explained in an interview that the 250 mW output limit was due to the voltage limit of the semiconductor for the S-Master developed by then. I wonder if they managed to overcome that limit with a new version of the S-Master, or if they went with a hybrid design based on the learning of the TA-ZH1ES, to rise the output to a more competitive level with modern DAPs without affect the better life too much?

It means Android 10/11/12.
