I tried it again today. Again nothing changed first place. But then I checked Clear audio + while I had music playing to make sure that the sound app is really disabled. Again the sound did not change at all. So the sound app was offline. But then it happened. I unchecked the useless Clear audio + stuff and the volume increased dramatically. Had to turn down from 80% to 30%. Wow that's amazing. All was done with my 250 ohm Beyer DT 1770.

Quite interesting finding... for some reason, besides being a classical music listener, I disable audio-gimmicks, I use EQ with bass to compensate MDR-1R weak bass

Hi, please can you answer a question for me. I read about the ZX100, and it says is has expandable 128GB memory. Does it mean it has its own 128GB internal memory? Then on top, it has a slot to add extra storage by memory card. 
 
Strange though because I was looking at the Sony website recently and I saw nothing about the ZX100. There were two listed new models coming. One the ZX1000, and the other the NWZ-A20 series.
 
Anyway, big congratulations too. I am looking forward to your impressions of its sound once run in, if you post here.

ZX100 Has On board memory of 128GB + microSDXC slot...  A20 series varies from 16 to 64G onboard and also microSD slots... tough zx100 has better build quality.. all metal.. Like it compared to my old A10 series all plasticky feeling

That's cool. Exacty what people wanted. The battery life should be better with it hving less screen space. I hope this is the case on battery life. I see that Sony say the ZX1 is described as a 'video walkman with high res audio'. I thought previously it was described as a high res-audio player that played video like all iPods for example. Ironic really when you consider the image quality is not exctly sharp for its size. Anyway thank you.

NB. I think I must have misread ZX100 for ZX1000 on the Sony website, btw. I think that's all there was.
