SONY NW-ZX2

Any information on local versions having any volume limiting?

From the ZX1 thread, it seems that the ZX1 did not have volume limiting in UK, so ZX2 should be alright. Even if it did have volume limiting, thanks to the open android OS it can easily be disabled by going into settings>apps>all>volume limiter>disable.

Yeah I'm getting this. Usb noise is always a problem in any audio product, even expensive Dacs. This looks like it will be a power conditioner for the Usb signal, sounds good to me. Can use ZX2 as a source for my NAD M51 Dac > Fostex Studio Monitors.

Bingo, simultaneous charging function is awesome. Maybe grab their SmartWatch2 for 100 bucks or so and we'll have a nice little office/home rig?

Could TeamViewer work for some Android devices as well?

This dock is great and I may not need to upgrade to the ZX2 after all.  Now I use the ZX1 connecting to my PHA3 while streaming without worrying  about battery going dead.

last Bluetooth invention in Sony zx2 will see the benefits only with same proprietary/compatible Bluetooth speakers/headphones yes? Or you will see the difference with any type of Bluetooth headphones?

Yes it needs a LDAC compatible connection on both ends, as LDAC has advanced circuitry + efficient codec, aka bluetooth on steroids. Most Sony 2015 wireless products should be LDAC compatible. Cmon LDAC is 3 times the data rate of regular bluetooth, can't realistically expect that to be compatible with regular bluetooth.

LOL - there's the skinniest chance in hell of a ZX2 making it through UK customs at £728 all-in.

I mean, good luck to anyone trying it, but the UK is a rip-off.

USD- $1094 is more likely to end up as £900-£950 GBP when all is said and done.

I've bought from PriceJapan many times,it will get through customs fine and your final price is around £765 when you pay with paypap which has%3.5.

Not so sure on the smartwatch 2. The walkman remote app gets bad reviews, very limited functionality. It can't folder browse to actually select the song you want, so it fails as a remote for me, you either have to just go through all your songs one by one or use shuffle.

Any details on the dock?  That looks perfect for my desk, which is where I use my ZX1 most.

Forget "can it do DSD or DXD etc" what's important for a hi end DAP now, is making 16/44 sound as good as it can.

Believe me no DAC on this planet yet can get the maximum potential of red book 16/44. Which if mastered properly can sound amazing , plus we ALL have lots of 16/44

Listen to MFSL CD of Muddy Waters Folk Singer, if you want to hear how good Redbook can sound.

Agree with you that a well mastered and recorded CD sounds superb but ahem on that any dac of this planet can extract the maximum from a 16/44.1, well my sony A17 makes those sound beautiful, rich and detailed

We haven't perfected 16/44 replay yet, not even an Audio Note DAC5 can do a perfect job.....yet.

Well.. if the DAC inside is good enough, then may be I can put my HUGO aside and only attach to the ZX2 either my TU-05 or my TUR-06  (2 great portable tube amps).

May be this will provide a nice warm signature..?

Very nice set up, love the logistical finishing touches with the hard case storage and leather case with the dap mounting, I love this kinda eye candy!
Oh yes, almost forgot, Hotel California rocks ; )

SUPER sweet F880/ZX1/ZX2 cradle for awesome output quality, BCR-NWH10 will be available on Feb 14th for 14,750 yen plus tax

Wow, Sony are really investing in the ZX2 now unlike the ZX1.  Bet any money though this will not be officially available on the UK market as Sony have totally shunned Walkman Accessories purchase availability in last few years.

The cube design looks a bit odd to start with coming from a long time BCR-NWU5 (does NOT fit ZX1) & BCR-NWU7 (does fit ZX1) cradle user I take it what makes this new cube NWH10 different is the OS-CON power supply unit which I am guessing would be more beneficial SQ wise than my old Sony cradles NWU5&7.
Hope this also holds the ZX1 as well just in case I never get around to buying the ZX2 as I also use the ZX1 in the cradle through my Oppo 105 player on my speaker Hi-Fi system.

Thank you for that info as was not aware of that, I was ramping up to buy one of these for when on the go around town but that is bit of a bummer knowing that.  Would it still be a case the Software/ app for this will be enhanced or updated to include this in future though to correct those shortfalls mentioned above which would then make this a worthy bit of hardware, although I am still tempted to take a punt on a second hand one at the right price on fleabay.

I really do nor understand what this cradle bring as for Digital output compared to the WMC-NWH10 Sony digital-out cable !

-->  Will the SQ be better if I use the cradle instead of the cable to feed my external DAC ?
