i wouldn't buy a v6, dt250, or any other pads for the cd900st. for me, they degrade the sound too much. i used those pads i mentioned before and it sounds really wrong.
 
We can order all parts for the CD900ST at soundhouse website. we might need to have a 'buying service' like whiterabbitexpress to get them though, which adds to the cost.

Ouch. Lets hope I don't have to replace them any time soon. They seem to be holding up pretty well, especially since I'm not the first owner.

ive been using mine for a long time and the pads are still perfect. what i just do for 'maintenance' is to wipe the sweat (and oilyness) with cloth lightly until the sweat/oil comes off.

Both ebay and amazon ship from japan for around $260-270.  Then there's the customs fees I have to worry about...

if you know someone in japan (or any trusty headfier that lives in japan that you know), you can have him or her buy there and have it shipped and declare the value lower so that you wont get taxed bigtime =)
 
used with very good condition cd900sts can go as low as 5000yen in electronic stores in tokyo.

and no, i wont sell these because it is my favorite headphone haha.. i went "high end" and still ended up in the mid fi xD the headphone is so underrated that rarely people buy it from outside of japan =(

That one was mine!
 
But yeah, it's a decent 'phone, but I ended up liking my HD600 just a lot more. The CD900ST is crystal clear and slightly mid-forward though. It has a great sound, I just wasn't using it at all since I had the HD600.
 
I kinda regret selling it now though. Would've make a great portable headphone with my Dragonfly...
