when he did the digital comparison with analogue, i wonder if he had slaved the transporter to his dac

I expected the analogue out on that thing to be pretty good =P from what I've seen (and understood) from the specs, the analogue section looks like a super-souped out M-Audio SuperDAC (which produces excellent results when modded) with a AKM4396 chip instead of a 4393.

He says the analog out on his Transporter is very close to the analog out on his EMM LABS SE. I'll hear for myself in a few days, but it is certainly a good sign.

I think people are starting to realize that $2K is going to be considered a relative bargain for the Transporter target market.

Wow, very cool. Lot's of pics up now on that forum! Kind of surprised at the opamp analog output and the choice of NE5534 but if it sounds good!

I couldn't find this out from the specs on Slim Device's website, so I'm going to ask it here:

1) Is the volume control on the Transporter digital or analog?
2) Is the volume control active on all analog outputs, or is there a fixed-level output on the Transporter?

I kind of agree with Ed, I would've liked to see a discreter output stage. But the jitter measures well, and if it sounds good, I guess thats what really matters. With all those caps in the path it will make a greater improvement when modding
