I would say get the 940s. If you already know that you like the sound signature of the 440s, it's an obvious upgrade. 

Even if you don't get an amp right away, they still sound good w/o one (according to earlier posters in this thread), and when you get one you'll be even happier! I don't see the point of taking a risk with another headphone since you're already sure you'll love this one.

I see that "Earphone Solutions" have the best price on these (or any I guess) cans with their online coupon. And I see links here al over the place from that store... is it a good place to buy equipment?
