Vinyl and tubes are as close to heaven as you can get**. Not that I'm biased or anything. 🤣

@bcowen congrats on beautiful setup - it must sound amazing :) As I've said I hope one day I will grown up to become part of this tribe, so far I'm not doing that bad IMHO since after falling in love with AuroraSound HEADA I know I will go with their Vida phone stage when the right time comes  Feliks Audio Envy Performance edition will be a perfect amp... just still too many tubes to roll in order to find the right combination :)

Righteous, sano setup. Looks like the best corner in a record shop!

I miss my old setup now, thank you :frowning2:

Are those humidors on the lower right? Don't tell me you bought marquetry boxes to store tubes! :D

letting my other amps have a rest tonight. haven't used the ferrum stack in a while. Still sounds good. it has such a clean dark background and a slightly warmish tone.

reading thru the canjam NYC posts, made me feel like having a small session of my own. it's been a while since I've tried listening to several headphones in one session; I usually pick just one, in rotation, for the evening.

CA1a needs high gain. I think the Raal sounds pretty awesome out of the ferrum stack. perhaps just slightly better from the vm1a. Caldera and Utopia 22 on medium gain. I still prefer Caldera out of my pre/power, and Utopia with the WA33.

Desk refresh

That Ikea Alex monitor stand minus the drawers makes a good gadget organizer.

Absolutely agree! I'm currently running 3 rigs (these Stax headphones, and two different Tannoy speaker setups) that are all sourced by vinyl. The SOTA is actually my #3 deck; the other 2 are Clearaudio Innovations. This Stax rig is the least tube'd, with a hybrid phono and hybrid T2 amp (13 tubes total). Got LOTS of tubes behind the Tannoys - 32 tubes used in EACH setup (one tube amp gives 250 Watts/ch, and the other is 300/ch). No digital source at all for the Tannoy rigs. I do have a digital source for the Stax setup, but it's currently collecting dust - I simply prefer the listening experience of vinyl, and I have enough of a collection (3,000+) that I don't really have to rely on digital :)

Beautiful setup you have there! Especially love the amp, and I know Nottinghams are supposed to be sweet. Chrome is so under-utilized; we live in a brushed aluminum world :sob:
