My cable also broke and I'm looking at getting a replacement but there seem to be many different types on ebay? Does it matter?

I bought the same thing from ebay for 20 some dollars!!!

Anyway, I felt that the sound is more clearer with this cable.
I set the bass dial to zero.
It was a noticible upgrade and if you can buy that for less than USD8 I see no way anyone could complain.
The veiled sound however does not go away buy it will sound more clearer.

If you want to buy the stock cable, you can buy them from addictedtoaudio.com.au but you will have to pay AUD85 for it.
It was not worth it for me. And with stock, you will experience either side of the IEM intermittently disconnect when you move.
Any OFC cable would be good replacement.

Hi all.
Long time lurker here.
I am a bit of a headphone collector.
I have HD650, HD600, HD558, Momentum 2 over ear, IE80, XBA3, MDR EX650 etc...
 
Just want to let any IE80 owners know that I found perfect tips for them on Amazon.
Like pretty much everyone else, I found the stock tips lacking and went on a search for good tips.
After going through lots from my collection I found that Sony hybrids fit well but kill highs, Comply tips also muffle highs and due to the wide nozzles, are uncomfortable.
 
These work great. Perfect seal, comfortable, and don't interfere with sound performance.
Hope this helps anyone looking for good tips.

They look like a spinfit clone so I'm not surprised. I have tried many tips with my IE80s and come back to the Spinfits every time, even though the bore is narrower than the nozzle. To my ears they outperform the Spiral Dots
