Man, $299 for a new pair?  I just bought mine here from a member used for $320.  If you don't HD650's yet you'd be crazy not to snatch up a set.

Know how ya feel, paid $274 shipped for mine used.  But stuff happens, they do pop up at that price now and then

eheh this is how I bought mine. I lived with someone who had a pair years ago and had nice memories of it even if I really didn't think headphones were for home usage at the time. then one day I was talking on IRC saying I wouldn't mind having one, but it was too expensive. the guy showed me a link for a little above 350$ and I grabbed one instantly. then I calmed down a little and realized I didn't have an amp for a fullsize headphone

  ooops.

at the time I think I had a pico slim for my IEMs, not exactly the powerhouse. ^_^

I did the same thing when Amazon had them for $290 back in January.  Now I have two pair that are broken in, will be handy should I drink too much and grow a second head.

Just trying to decide which to pick up, a 600 or 650. Which would be a good like.. alternative to my 700?

HD-650... perfect, complimentary sets of cans.

I picked up mine for $230 shipped a couple weeks ago. I couldn't pass it up.

I know, I've been reading those for a while and it's never a clear winner for me.

On the Adorama site, they show the older box.  Wonder if they are liquidating old stock?

I always debate the idea of getting a second pair.  I haven't been the nicest to my first pair...

The newest version of the hd650 still came in the old box for awhile before they switched over.

I had the same reaction when I got mine in an old box, but verified it was the new hd650.

My first pair came in the silver box and had the newdrivers.  The one I got in Jan. was in the black box.  Amazon obviously moves more stock than the smaller outlets so I would not be too concerned.  Buy em, check to make sure they have the correct drivers, and if by any chance they are the old drivers, send them back.  There was no difference between the two pair that I could descern still one of the best heapjhones out there.  Might pick up the hd800's after Christmas, so will probably sell off the older pair, but have no plans to get rid of all 650's. to enjoyable

Can I buy your HD 800's at a knock-down price when you inevitably come to sell them?
