I finally realized after listening to so many different headphones, $100 pairs to $5000 i still realized that, i still love my sennheiser hd650s. i have never heard another headphone that can produce detailed but heavy bass like the sennheiser hd650s. Even though the sound is a little laid back, i still love them. i tried the grado sr325is and i just didnt like the sound, it was sort of muffled, there was (to me) hardly any detail. all i have to say is I LOVE MY 650s! No one can take them away from me!

Yeah...bring it on guys!

Convince me that my plan to make the 650s a complementary can to my MS2i is a good one!

Give us the whole story on these cans!

Yeah!

No can moves up the ladder the way this can can, one could hear every component in the chain.
I really do love this can... even if i try to disown it every couple of weeks.

After previous jaunts to Sony (CD3K), AKG (K501/K701) and Grado-land (HF1), I keep coming back to Senns.*

On the plus side they grow so well. On the minus side they're hell on upgrade urges.

Probably the least talked about advantage of the HD650s is they're quite EQ tweakable.

* Trying again with GS1000 this week. We'll see, but nice to know no matter what there's always the safety raft of Senn-land smoothness to come back to.

One of the things that I want to mention is the comfort of this headphone. I love the soft padding and it feels so elegant like a wonderful 5th Avenue fur coat. (OK, I've never worn one but it's my guess since it feels like a luxury product)

I also highly enjoy the wonderful warm sound too and it's great for the kind of music that I listen too. I know some people may sneer a little because they have a $3000 headphone and it may be better than the HD650 but not all of us are as rich or as lucky as you are so please bear with us.

That said, the hd650 is a great headphone for the more common man who wants a taste of the something nice. It would make an incredible Christmas gift for any music lover especially living in an apartment along with a good amp. If someone gave me this as a holiday gift, I would probably break down in tears- like recieving a BMW on a smaller scale.

I agree. I have a pair of HP-2's.Althought he Grados are incredibly neutral, with a magical top end, I like the HD650's better with certain amp and source combos.

My current thoughts are to get Glite for my MS2i to keep it neutral, and then use the same amp for the future HD650 to lift the......uh.

I'd read Glite is magic with HD650 too!
